What is GMAT?
GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) , designed by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) is a Computer-Adaptive Test for measuring aptitude to succeed academically in graduate business studies, and tests both quantitative and verbal reasoning abilities . The test is administered in English.

Recognition:
Over 1,500 business schools all over the world list the GMAT exam as an admission requirement. Business schools commonly use the test as one of many selection criteria for entry into Graduate business administration programs (e.g. MBA ).

GMAT Versions:
Nowadays candidates take a Computer-Adaptive Test (CAT). The total test time is 3 hours 30 minutes.

In Russia GMAT is accepted at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy Test Centre. Certificates and scores are valid for 5 years.

Format:

The Introductory Computer Tutorial (no time limit)

Analytical Writing Assessment (60 minutes)
I. Analysis of an Argument (30 minutes)
II. Analysis of an Issue (30 minutes)
The Analytical Writing Assessment section is designed to measure your ability to think critically and to communicate your ideas.

Quantitative Section (75 minutes)
I. Problem Solving (23 to 24 questions)
II. Data Sufficiency (13 to 14 questions)
The Quantitative section measures the ability to reason quantitatively, solve quantitative problems and interpret graphic data.

Verbal Section(75 minutes)
I. Reading Comprehension (4 passages, 12 to 14 questions)
II. Critical Reasoning (14 to 15 questions) 
III. Sentence Correction (14 to 15 questions)
The Verbal section measures your ability to: 1) read and comprehend written material 2) reason and evaluate arguments 3) correct written material to conform to standard written English .
